This was a fantastically disturbing story—it was dreadful and I can’t wait to read more

(Also another level to it is that I could see this happening, a version of it at least, which makes it all the more unsettling)

That actually sounds really cool. I’m definitely interested in submitting it and it sounds like a fun project. I would love any tips or info you can share on how it usually goes.

I sent you a message!

Honestly, the idea of turning it into a podcast hadn’t even been on my radar until you just mentioned it. I’m not really sure how to set something like that up, but I just checked out your account and saw you have some podcasts on Spotify. I’ll definitely take a look.

I think you should absolutely consider it! There are quite a few short horror story podcasts out there who do amazing work at adapting short stories! I have several on CreepyPod (the ones you see in my profile) and I’ve submitted some to NoSleep (they do multiple narrators for stories where creepy stays with one narrator)

If you want to know more or how it usually goes just let me know and I can offer up whatever info I have :)

Thank you, seriously. I’m really glad you took the time to read it. And yeah, that’s the part that messes with me too. I’ll be sitting in a restaurant, looking around, and it feels like the kids aren’t being raised so much as paused by glowing screens. Quiet, compliant, plugged in. I don’t have answers, just questions. It’s hard not to wonder what happens when we stop teaching kids how to behave and start outsourcing it to batteries and Wi-Fi. Appreciate you catching that layer and leaning into the discomfort.

It’s also the illusion of “you’ll be so much happier as a parent let us raise them for you”.

Honestly this story would be adapted amazingly into a podcast, have you ever considered submitting it?

Damn, great read. It had a “The School for Good Mothers” feel with the dystopian vibe. Ready for more like this.

Creepy, resonant and disturbingly relevant to our immersion with tech. There’s an iciness to it that’s perfect.
